Quick Coffee Brewing Facts - The Meeting Place on Market

Quick Coffee Brewing Facts

Sometimes I need to calculate the volume of coffee beans/ grounds I might need for a project. So, we measured how many baking cups are in a lb. of coffee.

1 lb. of coffee beans contains approximately 5.75 cups (volume) of beans

1 lb. of coffee beans = 16 oz. of beans

If I want to brew some of our amazing coffee, I use 2 to 3 oz. of beans to make a pot of coffee (64 ounces), depending how strong I want the flavor to be. I usually start with 2 oz. per pot.

1 lb. of coffee beans/ grounds makes 5 to 6 pots of coffee using a standard drip coffee maker

1 pot of coffee is about 8 cups of coffee (8 oz. per cup)

1 lb. of coffee beans makes 40 to 48 cups of coffee.

Making coffee is not an exact science, it is an art form. You have the freedom to adjust the amount of grounds and the brewing method to your taste. As we think of more facts to add here, we will do so.

Happy brewing!
