Part-Time Barista

The Meeting Place on Market is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Part-Time Barista. No previous barista experience is required—we are happy to train the right person! If you enjoy serving people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in doing quality work, we'd love to meet you.

Position Summary

As a Barista, you will prepare specialty coffee and espresso drinks, prep and serve food from our kitchen or bakery, assist customers with their orders, pack gifts and coffee orders, maintain a clean and welcoming café, and help create an exceptional customer experience. Every member of our team plays an important role in making our customers feel welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer with a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Prepare coffee, food, baked goods, and gift baskets according to company formulas.
  • Take customer orders accurately and process payments.
  • Package orders and assist customers with product selections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the building.
  • Restock supplies and assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Punctual and dependable—arrives on time and ready to work.
  • Friendly and customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Hardworking and willing to stay busy throughout each shift.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to preparing drinks accurately and consistently.
  • Flexible and willing to help wherever needed.
  • Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to learn and accept coaching.

Previous barista or food service experience is a plus but is not required. We provide training.

Schedule Requirements

  • Must be available Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (hours will vary each week and can be flexible based on availability).
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends as needed.
